What is it about

Should I be paying more into my pension or should I be paying down my mortgage? Should I be consolidating my pensions or just changing the funds within them? How can I reduce income tax and invest tax efficiently? These are the types of initial questions I often get from clients. But to find answers to these questions, we first need to uncover what is the actual problem you are trying to solve? Specifically, what do you want your life to look like in the future? How do you want to be spending your time and who do you want to be spending it with? What we are all really trying to achieve is a certain quality of life and the confidence that we are doing all we can to attain it. Financial planning is about taking a step back and thinking about the bigger picture, helping you to explore what you want from life and then working back from there to find the best way of getting you there. Ensuring that you are taking advantage of every opportunity that presents itself for from pensions to ISIS mortgages and insurance, reducing tax wherever possible and optimizing your investments. In short, it's a financial planner's job to ensure that every step that you take is the right one. But first, we need to know where you want to go. So, second question when would you like to retire?
