Redirect to a webpage

Do you want to send a respondent to a webpage from a videoask? If you're on a paid plan you can redirect to a url from a button or upon completion of a step.

This could be a landing page, website, or of course another videoask! With conditional logic, you can add multiple URL redirects depending on what answers are selected.

Note: This option will redirect respondents in the same window or tab and end their videoask "experience". To allow respondents to open a link in a new tab, put links in the overlay text.

Add a URL redirect

1

Click Build to open your videoask builder

By default, each step of your videoask will proceed to the following step or the end screen (if it's the last step). You can see a visual of your current logic in the builder map:

Add variables to a URL redirect

Variables allow you to track information in a URL. This means you can pass information such as answers to your videoask or contact details from the contact form when respondents are redirected to a URL.

1

To add variables to your URL redirect, type an "@" sign to bring up the variable menu.

2

Select a variable from the menu. To add multiple values, type "&" and "@" symbols to open the menu and add a second variable.

3

Depending on where you will be redirecting respondents (ie a registration or search page), variables can be used in a variety of ways.

For example, here a respondent will be redirected to a Google search of the multiple choice option they select for step 4:

When you're satisfied with your variables, be sure to click Save.

All done! Rinse and repeat for as many steps as you'd like enable URL redirect on.

Note: If you'd like to redirect respondents based on their answers using conditional logic, you will need to use multiple choice or NPS score answer types.

Redirect and pass contact information from one videoask to another

Do you want to redirect respondents from one videoask to another, but don't want to ask for contact details in each videoask? Ask for contact information once and pass it to other videoasks using variables.

Using URL redirect variables, you'll need to match the contact fields of each videoask through these steps:

1

Copy the share URL of your second videoask (the one you want to redirect to)

2

In your first videoask, make sure a contact form is enabled for at least one of the steps.

3

In the Redirect to URL field, paste the link to your second videoask

4

At the end of the URL, type #contact_name=
