Looking to jump start the creation process? Though it's always fun to build things from scratch, templates are a handy way to speed things up and standardize forms. Use one of ours or create one for your team!
Our ever growing template library is available on every plan. These templates can be used as a guide if you'd like to refer to our scripts, use the form flow and replace its videos, or just scope them out for inspiration.
Note: When you replace the template videos with your own videos, this will count towards your minutes (unless you already have them stored in your Media Library).
Use a template from the library
Click the Templates folder at the top of the left-hand sidebar to open it.
Click on a template to preview it.
In the preview area, click through the template to experience it for yourself and decide if you'd like to use it.
To get the script for each of the videos in this template, click Download script.
Choose your preferred format and click Download.
This will give you a spreadsheet for the script of each step of the videoask. If you'd like to update the scripts and record new videos, learn how to add notes and scripts to your videoask.
Check out which VideoAsk features have been used in the template videoask by clicking on the links to Help Center guides.
To use the template and duplicate the video form itself, click Use this template.
If you have created your own folders, you can select which folder to add the template to. Otherwise, choose Root level 'folder' to add it to your main workspace.
Now you'll see the editable template in your account.
Edit a template
Now that you've duplicated a template, you can edit any aspect of it. To begin editing, click Build to open the videoask builder.
Click the videoask form name to change it.
Any changes you make will be automatically saved.
Click a step to edit it.
In the Answer tab you can change the answer type for that step.
Go to the Video tab and click Replace to upload or record your own video for this step.
If you record a new video, the script for this step will automatically display to make it easier to remember what to say.
On the left side of the builder, select the Contact form.
Here you can configure the contact form and choose where it will appear in your videoask flow.
To customize your videoask, open its Settings.
Create your own template
If you or your team will be using the same videoask structure a lot, creating your own template can be an efficient way to create many forms without repeating the same work.
Create a multi-step videoask you're happy with.
💡 Tip: When you create your template, make sure to use step titles to make it clear to your clients or teammates what each step of the template is all about.
Once satisfied with your form, make sure to name it and store it someplace where it's clear this is a template and not a videoask for receiving responses!
If you'll be storing your templates in a folder, make sure your team members have access to this folder so they can also use it.
When you're ready to use your template to create a new videoask, click the three vertical dots next to it.
...then select which folder to store your new videoask in and you're good to go! 🤗
